The black Octane has just been released into the game. An item that we could see coming for a while since the black Fennec was added. In this article, we showcase some of the best designs using the black Octane.
How to get the Black Octane
Just before we get into some car designs, you might be wondering where you can get a black Octane. It is currently in the item shop but may not be there when you are reading this post. However, I recommend using Aoeah. A safe, reliable, and trustworthy RL item selling website that sells the Rocket League black Octane. Click the link below:

Selecting a darker color on the Hyperspace decal almost fully blacks out your vehicle. However, the Octane: Hyperspace is untradeable. So if you did not obtain this decal through the Rocket Pass then you are unable to get it. An alternative would be to get the Fennec: Hyperspace. This version is tradeable. This will obviously eliminate the black Octane from your selection.

Why has it taken all this time for the Black Octane to be released?
Rocket League has been out for over 7 years and so has the Rocket League Octane. Although painted variants of the Octane were only added in 2017, that still means the other Octane paints have been around for over 5 years.
So why was the black Octane not added in the first place?
Pysonix have never released an actual reason, but there are many speculations. From what some of the community understood, Pysonix did not want to originally release white and black colors to ensure players do not have the same car colors.
Another theory is that the game makes a lot of money from black esports decals so they did not want to ruin this revenue stream.
We believe Pysonix have changed its mind and now added the Black Octane Rocket League car because it has been requested by so many players.
