This Minecraft Better FPS modpack has had over 55 million installations, making it one of the most popular mods in the game to improve your Frames Per Second.

1. Jarfix

The very first step is to install Jarfix. Even if you have installed it in the past, I recommend re-installing the latest version. Without Jarfix, or with an outdated version of Jarfix, any downloaded MC mods, texture packs, and maps will not launch successfully.

2. NeoForge

NeoForge is a crucial installation for the Better FPS modpack to run.

Make sure you install the same NeoForge version as the Better FPS mod version. So in this example, I will be installing the 1.21.4 NeoForge version and the same version for the Better FPS mod.

Once you have clicked the ‘Download NeoForge’ button above, change the ‘Minecraft Version’ to 1.21.4, then you can click ‘Download Installer. ‘

3. Cupboard Mod

Download the Cupboard in version 1.21.4 and under NeoForge. Again, this is a requirement mod for the Better FPS mod to work.

4. Better FPS Modpack

Click the button above which takes you through to the Better FPS modpack installation page. Click on ‘Files’ and then you need to match the game version column to the same NeoForge version you just installed. So in this example, I need to install a 1.21.4 version. You then need to match the Mod Loader column to NeoForge. If you are still unsure, you can filter your search to ‘1.21.4’ and ‘NeoForge’ above the mod file list.

5. Minecraft Mods Folder

You have now installed Better FPS, but we need to move it into our Minecraft Mods folder. To locate our mods folder, type %appdata% into your Windows search bar. Then select your Roaming Folder, then your Minecraft Folder, then Mods. Keep this folder open whilst opening your downloads folder. Then drag and drop, or copy and paste the Better FPS download into your Minecraft Mods folder.

6. Launching MC

Once you have followed these 4 steps, you’re ready to go. Open up your Minecraft Launcher and launch NeoForge 1.21.4. You may need to create a new installation, but usually, NeoForge will appear in your installations when you relaunch Minecraft.
