Are you struggling to win a tournament title in Rocket League? In this article, we will discuss 3 ways to improve your chances.
At Pro MB Gaming, we offer Rocket League tournament boosting. This service involves either a booster playing on your account or you to play with a booster.
We often try and tell others than in competitive playlists that it is not always their team mates fault. At the end of the day, they are the same rank as you for a reason.
However, in tournaments, I would side the “I had a bad teammate” quote. This is because even though tournaments have their own ranks, we have noticed a larger skill difference within the same ranked tournaments.
Why is this? There are a couple of reasons which I will explain. Firstly, teams get put into the tournament rank of who the highest-ranked player is in. To put this into an example, let’s say you are champion 2 rank and a team of two is entering a tournament. One is champion 1 and his friend is platinum level. You are their third teammate. This would mean you are likely playing against champion standard players with a platinum teammate.
Furthermore, another reason is the skill gap within the same tournament. This can be caused by each tournament accommodating 3 whole ranks. For example, you might be Diamond 3 so you’re entering a diamond tournament. Your two team mates could be Diamond 1 and if you get unlucky, you could in theory be playing against three diamond 3 players.
How to Avoid playing with Bad Teammates
There is a way round this. If you lose in round 1 then you get to enter the ‘Second Chance’. So why not take advantage of that? If you clearly have a weak teammate in round 1 then you could technically ‘purposely’ lose to re enter and receive another teammate. Beware! This can get you banned. So, we advise not purposely losing to the point it becomes obvious to everyone. It can be done discretely. Also note that players might just have a bad first few minutes of a game. It is round 1 after all so it could be their warm up game.
There are often times in tournaments where you end up waiting for another match to finish. Rather than wasting this time, I would advise using this time wisely. One option could be to research your opponents. The bracket displays every matches scores as well as individual player performances. Therefore, why not find out how your next opponents have been doing as well as their highest scoring players.
We hope some of these tips help you win more tournament titles.
