Decals in Rocket League have always been a necessity for many players. “The nicer my car design, the better I play” is a quote I hear often within the Rocket League community. In this article, I will list my top 10 favorite Rocket League decals.

My Top 10 Rocket League Decals

These are my top 10 Rocket League decals as of December 2021. All images are taken in an Octane making it easier for you to compare designs.

1. Interstellar

Interstellar was released in June 2020. It has since caught the eye of almost everyone in the game. The black market decal takes my number one spot as it has a space-themed design that can work with almost all color patterns.

• Primary color- Glossy purple
• Secondary color- Glossy white

2. Dissolver

The Dissolver Rocket League decal was released in April 2018. To this date, it is still one of my favorite decals in the game. An iced look on the blue team and a burning fire on the red team is my go-to designs.

Items and colors used in this image-

• Body- Normal octane
• Decal- Dissolver
• Wheels- Black Veloce
• Primary color- Orange
• Secondary color- Darker red

3. NRG

If you are a Rocket League fan and do not know who NRG are, then you must have been living under a rock. As of December 2021, NRG are arguably the most successful team in Rocket League history. And their organisation decal crushes their opponents’ too! Whether you support NRG or not, you have to agree that this decal has a clean, stealthy look. This is the identical decal for blue and orange team and is one of the only ways to get an all black car without using Bakkes Mod.

The wheels used in this NRG car design are the black Cristiano.

4. Tidal Stream

The Tidal Stream black market decal was launched in March 2020 within the Ignition Series release. Even though it is one of the cheaper black market decals, it still makes it into my top 10.

• Body- Titanium white octane. This offers a clean look and eliminates the car being being completely blue
• Decal- Tidal Stream
• Wheels- Pyrrhos in sky blue
• Primary color- Blue
• Secondary color- Light blue

5. Mainframe

The Mainframe decal has been around a while but unlike many others, I never get bored of seeing this one. This is another black market decal that can work with many different color combinations so have a play with whatever floats your boat.

• Wheels- FSL in pink
• Primary color- Pink
• Secondary color- Black

6. Heatwave

The oldest decal in my top 10 list! The Heatwave has been available in the game since September 2016. It was so popular, that Pysonix involved the decal in all 4 Champions crates. In the image, I have used the standard orange that the majority of people use with this, but I believe it can go with all colors as long as the primary color is bright.

7. 20XX

The 20XX decal was released in March 2017 in two crates: Turbo crate and Nitro crate. This is one of few black market decals that I do not like the unpainted version. However, I really recommend getting this decal in any painted version. The unpainted 20XX has too many colors changing color in one go for me.

• Primary color- Green
• Secondary color- Light Blue

8. Fire God

The Fire God decal can look cool in most colors. I prefer this decal being on the orange team but I decided to display a blue color to showcase its transparency. This Fire God decal has been so popular within the Rocket League community that Pysonix released it in 7 crates: Haunted Hallows crate, Secret Santa crate, Spring Fever crate, Impact crate, RL Beach Blast crate, Zephyr crate, and the Player’s Choice crate edition 1.

• Body- Titanium White octane
• Decal- Fire God
• Wheels- Blade Wave: Inverted in titanium white
• Primary color- Mix of a light blue/green
• Secondary color- Light Blue

9. Glorifier

Released in October 2019, the Glorifier decal is one of the cheaper black market decals. This is lower down in my top 10 because of the lack of color combinations that I felt worked, otherwise, it would be much higher. I only found that black worked well as a secondary color. Remember, that’s just my personal preference.

10. Meteoroid

Now I have cheated a little bit with this one! This particular design only works for PC players who have Bakkes Mod installed. This is because, in my opinion, the Meteoroid decal only works with a black primary color adding to the realism of a meteor traveling through space. Unfortunately, players are unable to have black as their primary color on either blue or red teams. Also just to pre-warn that if you use Bakkes Mod to change any aspect of your vehicle, only players who have Bakkes Mod installed will see the identical design. So this number 10 is purely for your own visual benefit, not for other players.

• Wheels- Celestial II
• Primary color- Black (Only available for PC players with Bakkes Mod)
• Secondary color- Orange
